i need some more ios photos to post here - if anyone who reads
this has some nice shots that they may like to share please
send them to me and i will post them.
in the meantime i'm posting this shot not from ios but taken
around two weeks ago at ninety mile beach in victoria (aus).
it reminds me a little of what mylopotas beach used to look like
early in the season before all those umbrella shaped things
arrived on the scene.

i'm back!!!
i've been going through lots of photos which i've shot over
the past week or so and still haven't finished yet, so i really
haven't had a chance to post anything here. over on my
photoblog site (which you can reach through my main page)
i have just posted a few shots and will continue to add to
them over the coming days.
i'll be going back to work again tomorrow even though i really
don't feel much like it! still in holiday mode!!
mr speed has kindly sent me some pics which i'll post soon
and perhaps i can impose on him to write an ios story or two
for me to add here from time to time. i'm pretty sure i have a
couple of my own locked away in the deep recesses of my brain,
i just have to try a remember them!!

i will be off on saturday for a short holiday break so i won't
be able to post anything until about the 20th. it won't be
anything like Ios, but it will be fairly relaxing and i need to
recharge the batteries a little !!
mr speed and i were having a chat about the old days on
the beach and at the old far out. he said that these days
the beach action is alot more subdued than it used to be
with the exception of maybe the midsummer and indian
days etc. we thought that perhaps we would try to kick
things back to life again and get some more things going
on the beach. of course i won't be able to participate
until 2005 but he will be back again for more in 04. if
anyone has some ideas on what might be fun to get into
in the sun down on mylopotas then please let us know.
i thought a "worlds strongest man" competition and maybe
a "world cup" day might be a way to start (details to be
worked out), or even an "iron man/woman" event would
test a few hardened punters out! of course these events
will involve large amounts of alcohol and doing lots of silly
things!!
i was asked by someone why i won't be there in 2004 and
quite simply it's a money issue. apart from the fact that from
here there are virtually no flights available to athens because
of the olympics, i will have to save hard for the airfare, which
i believe is around 1300 euros return!

does anyone remembers paul who in '91 would quite often
carry around a rather large video camera and film most of
the daily beach activities like the midsummer party etc. ??
he was the guy from melbourne who sat under the aussie
flag in front of the old far out and he was the ambassador
of the "australian embassy" !
i would like to contact him - does anyone have his email

i went to a friends place up in the hills today. he, like me
also went to IOS a few years ago but in '97. we relived
some of the things that we had done when we were there
and discussed our plans to revisit IOS in 2005. we have
a mutual friend who although he doesn't know it yet, is
coming with us!
