our austrian friends were back again after travelling through the red centre
and perth etc. we went out to dinner last night before farewelling them
today. a few shots from our night at the pub last night -
another guestbook reminder! - if you're one of my weblog regulars
please let me know who you are and sign my guestbook which is
located on my main page at http://pauldurrantphotography.com
thanks
definately a busy day yesterday! - but not work wise!
had to finish a little early to see my tax agent to do my yearly return.
then off to organize picking up the new car (well almost new) and
getting it home etc. we used a car finder to get our car - just give
them the type of car you want and what you want to spend etc.
and they find the car for you. much faster and easier than searching
yourself and if it's no good after a few days you just give it back and
get another!
a shot from yesterday -
a few shots yesterday - this first one i played around with in photoshop
to try and get the detail right in the bush to the right. i find this part the
most difficult and that is to get the sharpening right in shots where there
is a lot of small detail like this one. for most other shots i have actions
that i have setup which are pretty standard. it just shows you though
that not all shots can be treated the same!
a very cold day today, but we got through most of it ok until sometime
in the afternoon when the heavens opened up. i shot a few frames
today just to keep the camera exercized and the eye in !!
it's not all that often that i worry too much about cropping a shot.
mostly i shoot full frame and leave it that way. however, the shot
below which i decided on for my week 43 PAW, did have something
distracting to the right, which i have now removed.
thanks to the comments of a couple of members of the DUG for this!
sometimes you don't see things until they are pointed out - but they
were right and now the shot is much better!
we went to the school fete this afternoon just up the road from us.
did a fair bit of shooting with mixed success. i'll post one or two now
because i'm about to go to bed. maybe a couple more in the morning.
