some of you may ask why i asked for a choice on the previous
3 versions of the one shot. my photography is largely a personal
thing and i basically shoot what i like usually without worrying
what someone else might think. i wouldn't normally ask for
opinions although i do appreciate them. the shot i chose was
the one i liked best of the three anyway. i have asked once or
twice before about shots that i have posted and usually find
that while there are always differing opinions, my choice is usually
the majority choice. perhaps my rebellious nature should tell me
that i should shoot more stuff that i think people WONT like just
for something different !! now i'm just rambling aren't i.
thanks people for your feedback on the three versions of my
landscape. it seems that the last one was slightly more favoured
by the majority so i have tweaked it slightly (a touch more saturation)
and here it is - oh and i cropped out the road out the bottom as well.

i was able to shoot quite a bit more today while working.
it was very quiet, probably because of oaks day, (timbourina ran
third - by the way!) so on my travels i shot quite a variety of stuff.
the three shots below are versions of the same scene. i'm just
not sure which i like the best. perhaps some of you followers of
this log might give me your opinions on which one you like.

today is oaks day at flemington and i like timbourina to win the race!
let's see eh !!

oh well! - back to work today after 4 days off. what a drag!
it's slowlly warming up in this part of the world 27C forecast today.
i wonder what the light will be like - bright sunlight or ????
i didn't really go anywhere during my time off to shoot much and
haven't really taken anything that interesting lately so i'm keen
to get the camera out and shoot as much as i can this week.
here's hoping !!

today was melbourne cup day so after going to the shops this morning,
we stayed at home and watched the races on the tv. i would have liked
to have been there as it's always a great day. in fact probably our greatest
day in sport here in oz! of course i missed backing the winner as usual but
never mind there's always next year !!
we put a few snags on the barby after that so i took a couple of quick snaps.

canon has released the new firmware version 2.0 for the 10D so i went
ahead and upgraded. it was just a matter of downloading the file onto
a formatted CF card and inserting it into the camera etc. isn't technology
a wonderful thing !! thought i'd take a couple of quick snaps to make
sure everything was working ok. here's one of the test shots -
