i'm leaving shortly for the snow and have all my camera gear sorted.
i have it layed out on the floor in 3 bags and it looks like too much !!
of course i won't be carrying it all the time just what i need at the time.
hopefully i will have some nice shots to post after the weekend so
watch this space. next post will probably be monday night.

those winds were definately there alright !! i had to stop and take cover
from gale force winds, hail and slippery roads all at the same time.
i almost got blown off my bike so i thought i'd give it a bit of time to pass by.
those winds never really went away all day but at least for most of the day
it stopped raining.
i managed to shoot a couple of things so here we go -

well here we are at friday again !
apparently there will be gale force winds and maybe some rain.
it always seems to rain here on fridays for some reason. i'm hoping
to get a chance to shoot a few frames on my travels it time permits.
watch this space to see if it happens !!

i just found a blog which had a reference to my effort here!

oh and by the way i didn't get much chance to shoot today.

the family and i are going up to the snow on the weekend so i bought
a (fairly) weatherproof camera bag to hold the 10D and a couple of
lenses/batteries/CF cards etc. i will be taking all my gear with me
but some of it will be staying in the cabin. the bag is not that big
but i wanted it to attach around my waist so that i can do other things
when i'm not shooting.
i haven't really shot much with snow so i'm doing a lot of thinking about
exposure. i want to make sure i don't blow-out the parts of my shots
with snow in them. perhaps i will underexpose a little - i don't know yet!
i would get a neutral density filter but my four lenses are all different
thread sizes which is a bit of a pain !!

i was feeling a lot better today other than a bit of back pain.
i consciously rode around on my travels looking for stuff to shoot.
sometimes you just dont even think about it but today i made
myself use my eyes -

i finished work a bit early today because of a bad headache.
earlier in the day i took a few shots on my travels, but i like
this one that i took just a short time ago at home -

another success today - i sold my 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 which i haven't
used for a while. i found it too slow and when shot wide open, not
nearly sharp enough.

i've been fiddling around a bit with a photoshop action that i have
which basically tries to emulate infared film.

i've got someone coming over tomorrow after work to hopefully
buy my 28-105mm which i don't use anymore. that might help
to pay for some of these other purchases that i have made recently!!

i had a bit of luck today. i sold my ute that i have been trying to sell
for months. i guess i didn't get quite what i had hoped for originally
but sometimes it's better to get something!
