my family and i are off on holidays tomorrow down to lakes
entrance for a nice break, so more than likely i won't be able
to post here until around the 20th or so. the full array of
camera gear will be coming with me and i hope to do alot
of shooting. one of the downsides to having a digital setup
is of course taking all the battery chargers with associated
cables etc. of course the x-drive will have to come as i
imagine i will have more shots than ever before to deal with!

the outlaws have arrived from holland this evening and out
came the camera. these are of my brother-in-law with the
10D ISO1600 with only the overhead light as a source -

last night while i was walking about the house i noticed some
really nice light shining in the window on some of the objects
in our family room. i raced off to get the 10D but by the time
i had returned the light had all but disappeared (sunset time).
i found this as i looked out the window -

i've decided to shoot on large jpg setting on the S45 for the
time being. i find that i don't make any changes to raw files
except with the 10D (with that i can change the exposure).
i can then get about 5 times the number of shots on my cards
in that setting. in 2005 i will be travelling to a place where
i wouldn't want to carry much gear with me and especially
expensive gear so i'm kinda doing a bit of a test for the
future. of course i may have a different camera by then so
who knows, but at this stage the S45 will be the weapon of
choice.

yesterday morning -
